Canoe, Kayak & Stand-up Paddle Board Race

This year's event will be held at Leonardtown Wharf in Leonardtown, Maryland on Saturday, June 9, 2018 (rain date Saturday, June 23, 2018). The focus of this year’s event is to not only raise scholarship funds for First Responders and their families but has been expanded to offer military personnel funds to attend the Warfighter Advance™ 7-Day Post-combat Reintegration Program.

Forty percent of the proceeds will finance Rotary Club of Leonardtown charities and public service projects; thirty percent will be donated to t he College of Southern Maryland scholarship fund for First Res ponders; and thirty percent will go to the Warfighter Advance program™.

Kayak and Stand-up Paddle Board Race

The race will take place on Breton Bay, starting and ending at the Leonardtown Wharf.   After registering racers are encouraged to raise funds for the event by soliciting pledges from their friends and family using their favorite social media platform.  Every dollar raised through pledges will lower the racer’s time by 1 second.

Awards – There will be an awards ceremony for race participants at the conclusion of the race.  Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the men & women in three age groups (17 and under, 18-64, 65+) with the fastest race times.

Trophy – A trophy will be awarded to the participant with the fastest racer time which is the racer with the lowest combined time of race time minus the seconds  earned for each $1.00 donation credited to them.
